Welcome

Meetings

The Isle of Thanet Railway Society meets once a week on Wednesday evenings at Broadstairs Railway Station former Parcels Office. Usually there are members at the club between 19.00 and 21.30. Some come before and some leave later. Our Club Rooms We have spent a lot of time refurbishing the club rooms with a fresh lick of paint, cupboards and re-arrangements. We have decommissioned our large OO scale layout called Broadgate to give new energy to the building of some new layouts. There are currently two N Gauge layouts under construction, one being fine scale code 55 and the other is code 80. One based on Minister Thanet in the 50’s and the other is a modern image Power Station, Industrial and small TMD. Lyndenthorpe is the name of our OO layout. This being rebuilt with a much larger run round that includes a rise and fall to the two different levels. New tunnels and buildings are being created with a lot of care and attention. A new Clay Pits and Lime Quarry Layout is just beginning. This will be either DC or DCC depending upon the connected controller. Based upon an East Sussex Museum. We also have three completed layouts. These include Bramleigh N Gauge, Sherholton N Gauge and Uppstares O gauge. Uppstares is a 24 foot End to End layout that features DCC Sound.
